Son todos esos “pequeños gastos” inesperados o no programados en los que incurres día a día. Parecen inofensivos porque son tan pequeños que a diario pueden pasar desapercibidos: El chicle, la gaseosa, el cigarrillo, el taxi, las recargas de pequeños montos al celular y ojo: la compra del mercado al menudeo. Está identificado que este tipo de gastos son una amenaza alta para la buena salud financiera y es uno de los que más afecta a los colombianos, ya que hacen un hueco o una pesada carga cuando se suman y generan en algunos casos que las personas se endeuden para terminar el mes, además cuando ocurre dejan de destinar ese dinero a gastos como el pago de las deudas ya adquiridas o el ahorro, uno de los pilares fundamentales de la economía personal. Si tú eres de los que suele decir “no me dura la plata en el bolsillo” es porque probablemente estás invadido por los gastos hormiga, a continuación te damos las recomendaciones para fumigar este mal hábito.

Detectar

Lo primero y más importante es identificar el problema para fumigar. La forma más simple de detectar la cantidad de recursos que se van en gastos ‘hormiga’ consiste en anotar en una bitácora cuáles son las compras que haces diariamente y determinar cuáles pueden ser recortadas o eliminadas de tu vida. Así podrás establecer el monto de cada una de tus compras a la semana, al mes y al año, y notarás la cantidad de dinero que podrías ahorrarte con tan solo hacer algunos cambios en tus hábitos de consumo.

Para evitar la ‘hormiga’, un ‘marranito’

Suele suceder que cada vez que cambias un billete de gran denominación, las ‘vueltas’ se vuelven plata de bolsillo, que casi siempre vas a procurar gastar. Por eso lo más recomendable para ‘fumigar’ de raíz estos gastos es pagar con dinero plástico (tarjetas) para evitar así tentaciones o impulsos. Sin embargo, si es inevitable que lleves plata en tus bolsillos, trata de destinarlo, al final del día, para el ahorro. En este punto sería bueno tener una alcancía en la cual deposites las monedas.

Planifica el mercado

No planificar adecuadamente el momento de compra del mercado, es una de los principales motivadores de las compras “hormiga”, para evitarlo te recomendamos: – Procura no ir de compras con hambre, eres más sensible a ciertos alimentos y antojos, que no son necesariamente parte de la canasta familiar. – Prepara la lista de mercado con antelación, revisando la nevera y la alacena, evaluando los alimentos, su durabilidad y la cantidad para el mes. Comprar paquetes con más unidades genera mayores ahorros y menos viajes a la tienda. – Recuerda incluir alimentos como media mañanas, onces o refrigerios en el mercado, para evitar comprar en la calle comida chatarra, esto no solo te hará ahorrar dinero sino que te permitirá adquirir hábitos más saludables.

Ponte una meta que te motive

Define que harás con lo que ahorres al minimizar o eliminar tus gastos hormiga. No te presiones, eliminar radicalmente todos los gastos hormiga en un solo momento no es una obligación, empieza poco a poco. Conforme veas los resultados te será más fácil controlar estas fugas de dinero. Recuerda… No tiene nada de malo darse estos gustos de vez en cuando, el problema llega cuando el gasto equivale a una parte importante y constante del ingreso y se sacrifica el dinero de las necesidades básicas o del ahorro. Lo más importante es conocer nuestro presupuesto y controlarlo de forma adecuada.
